Trust Yourself

I found it every time I doubted
Myself, unsure if I could do it
When I didn’t trust my mouth
The words that slipped out of it
When I couldn’t believe my eyes
Thinking I must be hallucinating
In my weakest moments
The times when I almost gave up
When I thought I couldn’t trust myself
I found it but didn’t recognize
Left it behind not once looking back
But it faithfully caught up to me
As if we were related, meant to be
I realized I couldn’t push it away
However hard I tried
It was always there right beside me
Always there in my shadows
Just as lost as I was
Seeking to be found,
And that’s when I truly found it
Found that little flicker of hope
In myself.
Called trust.

P.s: I chose this picture quote because it reminds me of mint choco chip ice-cream! lol ๐Ÿ˜€

I don’t know if this poem makes sense….just my random thoughts. The point I’m trying to make here is that Allah ุณุจุญุงู†ู‡ ูˆ ุชุนุงู„ู‰ our Creator, has blessed us with an intelligent mind and a capable body ย ุงู„ุญู…ุฏ ู„ู„ู‡. We should trust in our capabilities and have faith in Allah’s decree. Might write another post to explain this further ุฅู† ุดุงุก ุงู„ู„ู‡.

Remember me in your duas! ๐Ÿ’–

  1. Simple Yusra. We place full trust only on Allah and have the yaqeen that with His help all is possible and without His help even the easiest of things is impossible. We don’t have trust in our abilities but we have faith and confidence that we have our Allah always Who wants us to draw from His treasures in all we need be it a shoe lace. That’s why the dua of Nabi s.a.w is ‘ O Allah don’t leave us to ourselves even for the blinking of an eye…’ so our duty is to have faith and not to doubt and not to be weak in what we attempt of goodness. Allah Ta aala saya ‘ When you have firmly made a resolution then place your trust in Allah’.

Yes, you’re absolutely right brother. It is a part of our faith that we place our tawakkul (trust and reliance) on Allah ุณุจุญุงู†ู‡ ูˆ ุชุนุงู„ู‰ alone. All the matters of this life and the hereafter occur only by His Permission and Will. Completely relying on Allah ุนุฒ ูˆ ุฌู„ knowing that we are incapable of doing anything by ourselves is one part of tawakkul and the other is working towards what we want. “Tying the camel” as it’s stated by our Prophet ุตู„ู‰ ุงู„ู„ู‡ ุนู„ูŠู‡ ูˆุณู„ู… in a famous hadith. This poem is adressing this second part. That is trusting ourselves with the capability that Allah has given us, as He ุณุจุญุงู†ู‡ ูˆ ุชุนุงู„ู‰ does not burden a soul beyond that which it can bear.

Jazak Allah khair for the comment. And for sharing the dua, it’s one of my favorites.
